Together, we'll explore how these approaches can help you navigate the challenges of compassion fatigue while fostering a stronger physical, emotional, and psychological self.

The West Niagara Psychology Centre also offers groups for children, adolescents, and adults for concerns related to anxiety and stress, depression, social skills, anger, attachment, and emotion regulation. Depending on the presenting concern, groups are run based on different perspectives and theories of treatment including Cognitive Behavioural Therapy, Mindfulness, Attachment, and Dialectical Behaviour Therapy models. Please contact this office for information regarding costs, future groups, and your interest in attending.

SELF-ESTEEM GROUP FOR TEENS

Many teens experience low self esteem and confidence. Youth who experience ongoing low self esteem are at high risk for anxiety and depression. This group will support the development of self confidence using strategies from Cognitive Behavioural Therapy and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy.

Facilitated By:         Dr. Diana Borrelli, Clinical Psychologist (Supervised Practice) and Serena Thompson, Clinician (Supervised by Dr. Michelle Lohnes)

Who:                           Adolescents 13-16 years old

When:                         Tuesday’s from 6:00pm-7:30pm  - beginning in April - for 8 weeks (dates to be confirmed shortly)

MASTER YOUR STRESS 

METHODS TO REDUCE STRESS THROUGH MULTIPLE MODALITIES

WHAT:  This group will teach you how to use mindfulness and cognitive therapeutic approaches as self-care practices for stress management. Participation in the group will enhance attention, increase empathy, promote a non-judgemental attitude and enhance your ability to respond to worry and stressful situations.

WHAT: Many adolescents have difficulty making and keeping friends. Youth who want to have friends, but experience challenges socially are at high risk for anxiety and depression. Following the PEERS (Program for the Evaluation and Enrichment of Relational Skills) program, participation in this group will support the development of social skills; increasing the likelihood for making and maintaining lasting friendships.

The Circle of Security® Parenting™ program is based on decades of research about how secure parent-child relationships can be supported and strengthened.
